Can anybody tell me the difference between N1EF needle and NEDJ im looking for clean smooth power delivery. many thanks.

Hi Nick, if smooth power delivery is what you're after then i think the Suzuki needles are for you! They have a longer straight section and more progressive first taper, so leans the bottom end nicely.

I originally had N1EG (AS1, 35PJ, 178M, 2nd clip from top, UK climate 0-1000ft) in mine and have now replaced with NEDJ. Originally it was very rich and burbly up to about 1/4 throttle and not nice to ride down there. Now it has cleaned up a lot at these low throttle openings, although its still a work in progress with room for more improvement (currently 42PJ, 182M, middle clip).

I know the main can be dropped, but having just got into this jetting game i wanted to play it on the safe side! Seems to run ok up top considering. I think a smaller main may even give a slight benefit at the lower throttle openings also - also need to assess airscrew effects up to 1/8 throttle.

The suzuki needles are a vast imrpovement over stock ones, so go for it. I ordered mine through the local suzuki dealer and it arrived next day, all for just over a tenner :D Quick search on google, and partno. for NEDJ is 13383-37FM0.

Im no jetting expert but certainly noticed a big benfit from this mod.

Latest update, Nedj needle,175 main, 42 pilot problem being air screw turned almost all way in, so going to try 45 pj to enable me to get air screw to 1.5 turns out approx., does this sound about right. many thanks.

2013 gasgas 250ec, as1 ,Nedj needle, 2nd groove, 45pj (now) ,175mj still not 100% happy but only with the tickover still hangs a little before it settles, any ideas anyone. thanks.

Check your throttle free play, you could have the slide off the deck, it only takes a couple of mm to lean out the pilot circuit.

Above you wrote you have an AS1. Black circular threaded cap and a deep bowl? Correct, if so you'd be better off running a richer needle diameter (around an F on a 250). Otherwise, if you have a AS2, I've personally found the 250 prefers a W diamater needle with a 40/42 pilot, where the 300's like the J (same pilots).

Also, like Simmo says, check the cable play, and also the slide height (idle screw). Sometimes backing it out a fraction more is all it takes to drop the bike back into a nice low idle.

Lookiuto but a NEDJ in next few hours for my 2011 300 but Allens in the UK go by actual size Not NEDJ code, can someone supply thanks urgent!?
