New GasGas owner! Well new to me 2005 EC250

Just a brief history...my last two stroke...or dirtbike for that matter was my 1987 RM125 circa 1992. Since then it's been quads with a street bike sprinkled in. I recently had the itch real bad to get back on 2 wheels/2 stroke and I was looking heavily KDX's. I ended up finding my new to me 2005 EC250 for $1500. I felt it was great deal. It was just serviced. Only bad item, one of the silencer tabs on the frame needs to be rewelded. Overall it was in newer and better condition than anything I looked at. I can't wait to get out and ride.

I'd just like to add back a kick stand and headlight.

I went from a KDX220R to a 2005 EC250. I was always looking for more power out of the KDX. I'd have to plan ahead because my throttle didn't respond quickly enough. That problem ended when I got the Gasser.

Nice pick up. Welcome to GasGas. I assume you are in New England, which part are you from?

Dudley Ma. Real close to Burriville, RI.

Yup, know where it is.

The tabs on the subframes are prone to braking and I have already welded mine twice on my GasGas and once on the CR250 I used to have. No big deal for anyone that is used to welding aluminum tubing.

Hope to see you out there at some of the NETRA events.

I'd like to try the NETRA nervous novice event that just got bumped to October. Depends how much seat time I get beforehand. I may not make an event until next year if work /family doesn't give me the time to ride.

Good luck getting seat time. Most of us have to deal with balancing work/family obligations.

Look into joining a local club like Tri State. Joining a club will help you gain experience etc.

Nice bike! you'll be happy with it for sure! You get the paperwork too?? going to tag it? Its a fun bike for some of the more trail oriented dual sport runs..

'05 is a good year. Newer motor cases, new main frame thats the same through '09. If you want, you can swap a newer subframe and up to '11 plastic, and have a very modern bike. Thats whats cool about GGs, they are great bikes for guys that keep them. Good Luck!

@ EFF....I hear you. It's good to know I'm not alone on the life/work balance. I just sometimes read about guys always riding and I wonder how they do so without getting flak from their wife and kids.

@ cruiser ...if I can plate I will. That's my goal. But it will be a challenge in Mass for sure.

@GMP....now that is really cool to know. After my learning pains, I may just do that cosmetic upgrade.
