New NMA ISDE formated event in Wa.

Speedy and other interested Canadians there will be no tab requirements for this event just a Canadian picture I.D. OR a License plate.

And for you Americans Washington honors all other states tabs.

I know It took a while to get this info, but you know how slow government agencies can be. :)

Sounds great! I'm really looking forward to this event.

How long will the course be and how many special tests? Any idea on the approximate time schedule?

I'm shooting for 80+ miles and quite a few special tests. Some of those tests could be painfully long. ;) I will know more in the coming weeks, and will post the flier pretty soon.

I have a couple things in mind!
Anyone who rode our Black Bear Enduro 3 years ago remembers Faith hill! This could be a part of the course.
I also may put something tough together inside Straddleline boundary's for not only the racers but those watching the event.

Great news to have an ISDE format event again. I really like those, after '94 the ISDE format went away and we got those dreaded HS events and a handfull of timekeepers (with the exception of the Jackhammer and Cowbell). Hopefully it won't be too dusty, special tests in dust can get very ugly.

Yep, I really miss those events at camp 18, Baker lake, and Hamilton! It doesn't get any better. Well, up until the new Grizzly ISDE of 2008. ;)

I hope it won't be super dusty either. I'm counting on some dust though and will plan accordingly. Safety for the racers is very high on the priority list. Hope to see ya there.

Quick question for you Roscoe - does my PNWMA license cover me for NMA events or will I need an NMA license as well? I know in the past there's been cross over between the two licenses but I can't remember the details.

Looking forward to the Grizzly!

Steve

You will not need any Licenses, NMA or PNWMA.
The course is coming together and this should be a real fun time. The logging is making it hard to keep tabs on what is good to go and what needs attention. The long course will easily be 80 miles plus and that my be low on a preliminary mileage estimate.
I have got my main sponsor Cycle Gear to Sponsor the race, and Long and Short course overall will have a small purse ( Cycle Gear merchandise cards.)

I will post up the flier very soon, maybe tonight.

Here ya go guys! Don't miss it!
This is shaping up to be one that gets talked about for years to come. I can almost hear the bench racing stories around the campfire now.

Arrrrrgh. It's doubtful I'm going to make it this weekend. I tweaked my lower back on a tricky log today and don't think it would be wise to spend all week sitting in an office, then all day sitting Saturday in a vehicle driving down to Olympia to race on Sunday, then drive home Monday. I'll see how it is Tuesday and make a decision then but it's not looking good.

The log crossing that it happened on was on an uphill, left hand corner with an 8" diameter log sitting approximately 2 feet off the ground. Plan of attack was plant left foot before log, wheelie to plant cases on the log then use momentum/push with left foot to slide over the rest of the log. Unfortunately on my first attempt I didn't hit it quite right and ended up sliding back, then I guess I tweaked my back pulling the bike off the log to try again. NOT what I needed a little over a month before the ISDE!

Not being familier with ISDE events, is the short and long course are they one continual loop like a enduro or are they comprised of multi loops like a harescramble?

Aw man that totally Sucks Steve, I was looking forward to meeting you. Heal fast but strong. Ya for sure, don't jeopardize your six days for our little race down here.

Good luck!

Anyone can do this race no clock or odometer is needed to be competitive just speed and a brain.
Short course is 1 loop and long course is 2 loops. First loop is a slower speed average for all classes. Then we bump the speed up for the long course second loop which will have new surprises in it.

Is my Gas Gas gonna be the only one there, I hope not!

Talked to the physiotherapist today...definitely no racing this weekend. If I'm lucky I'll be able to go for a trail ride but even that's looking doubtful. $@%#!!

Are you planning on coming to the GasGas ride this fall in the Okanagan? I should be there (barring injury).

I'm heading out to go set up this race. Its looking good! Got some heavy ocean mist the past couple of days out there and everything but the most open clear cuts are prime, but even the clear cuts are still not horrendously dusty.
Cycle Gear surprised me with some unexpected and very nice contingency's on top of the purse money. So we will be giving out a ticket with your sign up for the opportunity to win something extra at awards. Cycle Gear does me and my club and the sport right.

Hope to see some Gas Gas riders there. I'm pretty sure Eric known as the eel on here will be there on his 2005 DE 250.

If you show at the event come on up and introduce yourself.

Hope you can make it!

Good luck with the Grizzly, Roscoe (although by the time you see this it'll probably be "hope you had good luck at the Grizzly"). We won't be there because that's the same day we're leaving for the Sawtooth Mountains to kick off 2 weeks of prime Idaho riding. Maybe next time. See you at the Black Bear in November if nothing else.
BTW, how's the foot you mashed at the Timekeeper? Don't those big-ass medical shipping ice packs work great?

I got to give Roscoe and the Cascade club TWO big thumbs up for there event today. The race was great, very well laid out and very well marked. The weather was perfect, just enough drizzle to lube up the clay, rocks and roots to their slimey best without being to sloppy.

Great job and please do it again next year.
