NGK plugs- No Good Krap

Lately, I've been having bad luck with NGK plugs.

When I first got my bike, I was fighting a high rpm misfire. Felt like it could be a jetting issue. The plug in the bike was a NGK BR8ES. Put a BR8EG in and the problem went away.

Fast forward to 2 weeks ago.
I put the S3 cylinder and head on my bike. Decided to throw a new plug in-NGK BR8EG.

On the shake down run the bike was missing at high rpms as before.
I leaned out the SmartCarb a couple clicks. Seemed to run a lot better.

So, last weekend we went out to DurhamTown GA to ride.
Bike was missing like crazy at high rpms . Swapped out the plug with a new NGK BR8EG and the bike ran perfect the rest of our stay.

At this point, I will NEVER run another NGK plug in my bike.

Commonly regarded as the highest quality plugs, or at least where the industry standard aims for. . ., well like 3 decades now.

I've had race bikes that have eaten plugs, not fouled up through low revs jetting, was only screamed at high revs all its life. Turned out to be weak ignition manifesting in plug breakdown. New plug would sort it out, but only for a race meeting.

On your bike I'd throw another plug cap at it for insurance & keep checks on plug life. Hopefully not coil, stator or CDI. Maybe you did get a batch of bad plugs, I'm not an agent, just a regular user.

I tend to get my NGKs start to give issues in my GGs, both my 200 & 300 & I'd replace a plug & go, oh yeah, that's been in there about a year, er maybe more.

As mentioned I suspect you may have another issue. Might be time to do some electrical diagnostics.

I only use NGK in my bikes and have for the last 25 years. I have always had good success with them.

i ran into a weird problem that made me think the plug was the villian.
i adjusted the AF screw while it was running.
somehow it messed up the plug but not immediately.
so i suggest only adjusting the AF with the engine off.
