Gio Sala, the FIM track coordinator, penned an article for the Sept. addition of "Motocross diGitaL" e-zine. He states there is little reason to return to the US if our top riders aren't going to compete.

As someone who was involved with the last 2 CDN WEC rounds, I can tell you that the biggest reason for not coming back to NA was the cost of travel. The cost of coming to NA was just too much for most small teams to swallow. If you noticed, TM, Beta and Sherco didnt even show up this year and Gas Gas' only big name rider there was Nambotin.

In conversation with several riders, it was apparent that they were homesick and didnt like being away from their families for 3 weeks + in the middle of the summer.

Another big reason was the lack of interest from the North American riders. Other than Lafferty riding the US round, where was everyone else? It seems silly for the same group of Euro riders to come all the way over here only to race eachother again.

Until we switch to WEC rules in NA, I doubt we will ever see the WEC back on NA soil. There just isnt enough interest in it to justify them coming back again.

As a true WEC fan, I agree, it is sad but true.

The biggest irony in the whole North American WEC thing, at least as far as the top US riders (GNCC riders that is) boycotting the event, is that Racer Productions, the GNCC promoter, is considering co-hosting the 2010 ISDE to be held on the east coast.

Wouldn't it be fitting if none of the top US riders competed in that event.

If it ain't in California, nobody wants to play.:(

We'll see if the Last Man Standing event goes the way of the Dodo bird.

This just plain SUCKS!!!!!

I was looking forward to drinking beer with the boys from gofasters!:(

Oh well I guess I am lucky because I bought the bike this year.

So very glad I pulled it together last minute to ride the Hancock NY round. I kinda thought it might be my only chance to do a World Enduro Round.

Good memories and for some reason I don't remember the pain now.

Definitly, GOOD TIMES!!!!
