Does this look right to everyone? Can't tell what the red bits are and do? I have an older shock that doesn't have them, any ideas?

Had a good look about, and basically the shock has been lowered... Wow. I can find the washers online and they appear to be racetech, but there is an aluminium but under that which I can't find in any lowering kits, and is not there on my spare shock so I've taken out of, any idea where there come from?

I can't believe I've had this bike 7 years and not known it's been lowered...

Geeeze she's dirty!!

Ohlins use plastic spacers to set the shock lengths. Completely normal.

Here's a pic I snapped when I serviced a mates 09 888.

These are the shim stacks I've found and what I've done.

2006 - this was revalved by a very renowned tuner in the UK, needless to say it was terrible, very harsh spiking over square edges, so I've removed the 2 stage, added another face shim, and put 2 smaller base shims in for firmer low speed and softer high speed.
