oil drain bolt crossover ?

I looked through the "crossover parts" section.
I searched "oil drain bolt". (Try it. You get 11 pages of...)

I've changed the oil at least 50 times on this bike. No problems. I managed to strip the Allen head tonight.
I don't want to remove it until I have a replacement. Would another brand's part cross over or can I get a suitable replacement at a hardware store ? If so, what's the best method of removal, EZ-out ? I know it's not very tight in there.
Help ! I'm leaving Wed. night and hope to not have to put 2 days riding on 100-mile-old oil.

Go to your friendly Ford dealer and talk to one of the diesel techs.
Tell him you want the plug that goes into the top of the high pressure oil pump on a 6.0L motor.

Use a Torx bit to remove the drain plug.

Thanks for the lead on the plug. I'll stop there tomorrow. The Torx is a good idea too.

I'm a diesel tech at a Ford dealer, when I saw that bolt a light bulb went off. Brought it home and it's an exact match, even has the O-ring built in.
No magnet though, which is a good thing, due to the fact they can come loose.

You already have a suitable replacement - it's the oil fill bolt up top. It's exactly the same except for the magnet. You can use the bad one for the fill bolt after you cut a slot in it for a common screw driver. Do put the good bolt in the bottom, order a new one, then change the bolts around on your next oil change.
