i have a 04 ec300. do kx side panels fit and if so what year and does it cover the air filter access cover? any help is greatly appreciated :)

options

price, availibilty, and what local dealers carry! my dealer is shying away from gas gas and they are only 30 min from my house! they are, however, a kawie dealer!! so does anyone have the answer???

the rear fender is the only kx part that swaps, was going to suggest a few sites that sell cheap plastic, but you sound like your set on getting kx plastic for your bike

If you get an airbox from a 98-01 gasgas, then you can use the side panels from a 94-98 kx, that is what i did to my 02 xc 300, i hate the side access airbox, it always comes open while riding.

Randy,

Its eaiser to just get the GG stuff mail order or online. The Kaw stuff will work with some trimming but you do need the older airbox for the right fit. The only GG plastic that was real expensive was the clearcoated stuff from '02, so if you get prices make sure its not that.

plastic

im all ears as to where to find gas gas plastics cheap? i dont mind mail
ordering at all! (i do know that the 02 plastics are a bit more!)however, with the racing season coming up its just nice to know where to get things if you cant wait for mail order and not pay 1st or 2nd day air!($$$$)! the air box fix about the cover popping/falling off is to remove the dzus and female
clip and get a new clip(auto parts store) that has a metric nut attached
and use a metric bolt and washer to hold it there!(how fast do you REALLY need to remove the air box cover)!! thanks for all your feed back

scroll down to my last reply about the air box

Yeah, most of us that had bikes with the door have done that, works fine. I think his point was its no loss going to the older airbox if you want/need to.

One thing you might want to check is the availability of the older KX stuff before committing to do this. I had a 98 KX250 (sold it in 06) and noticed that I was starting to not have as many options available at the time.

that was my reason for starting this process but its not worth looking into kx
stuff any longer if the rear fender is all i can use! so i think i will just keep looking for good prices on oem plastics! thanks again
