power valve triangle plate

So while trying to undo the nut that holds the link rod in place I have broken the lug off the triangle actuator plate. I'm not sure if I can repair, maybe drill the plate and put a bolt through?
Where are people in Australia buying parts from now that gasgas Australia is no longer the importer. New importer still has no parts site online.
Cheers.

Been there done that. What did I do? Think I welded something back in from the back. A while back and a few beers tonight.
Find an old time engineer dude and give him whatever he asks.

Many warnings here about that.
For those that haven't heard...torch the nyloc nut to melt the plastic before trying to remove it.

I think jay has knocked it on the head and is out of the game now.
Close motocycles in marrickville (Sydney) will get the part you require.

The pin is just tack welded into the plate from what I remember. Should be able to have a decent welder do the same for you, making it better than new.

Yeah I used a pretty dreadful welder (me) but its still hanging in there just fine. I had to add a washer so it turned without getting hung up.

I'd probably just blow a hole through the whole tab if I tried.. or spatter it with bird poo... ;)

Ahh. So you know my secret techniques.
Actually I just took my old gasless mig to the tip. I feel much more competent with my new welder. Although I'm yet to spark it up. I've had it over a month. . . Can't believe it. Too much else on.

Wait until you try alloy...one sec theres a weldpool then "pffft"....gone...all gone...
Quite demoralising if you thought you could weld reasonably with stick and mig...

Thanks for the replies. I have ground the tack weld off the back of the plate and punched out the remains of the pin. I will just tack a bolt in place and make a bush to suit.
I had ordered the part from Scotties but he said he was unable to get the part from Gasgas. Hope the parts situation improves soon. Seems the new importer is only interested in moving new bikes.

Did you try contacting Jeff (the old importer) directly. While he's no longer affiliated with Gas Gas officially he was left holding all the stock he had. He may/may not have the particular part, but couldn't hurt to ask.

I thought I had read somewhere that Jeff had sold the remaining stock to the new importer. I did order some parts from him when he was selling off stock at 50% off but I got in a little late and didn't get all that I ordered.
At this point i'm happy with fixing the old part, but if I doesn't work out I will contact Jeff.

I don't actually know what he's got left in stock.. but has to have at least a couple things. I had a few dollars credit remaining from the 50% clearance where I'd paid for bits that he'd run out of. He sent me something else I'd enquired about for Christmas.

Really just depends what he was holding and not. I don't imagine the 50% clearance would have had people jumping for actuator plates (but you never know); more likely just at the consumables and plastics, etc.
