Sad to hear,, Boysen racing is only a 25-30 minute drive from me down some twisty mountain roads.. nice people there.. friendly shop..He will be missed.
He's a landmark on motorcycle history, I remember when I was a kid the first tuning mod we would do was getting a set of Boyesen reeds. Some of the guys still prefer them over Tassinari's .
Remember the "Boyesen Link"? It was a parallelogram linkage system that eliminated chain torque effects. He had a prototype YZ250 that all the mags tested, said it was way ahead of anything at the time. A bit to complex and expensive for mass production I suppose.
