This must be one of the saddest day of my life...
Seems like the retirement was the consequence of the crash and they didn't want to tell in the public what was going on...?

Facts are kind of vague, but by reading all of the accounts, it appeaers he was up and about and left the hospital, only to get sick again. Apparantly they missed something like a damaged kidney, and he died soon after emergency surgery.

That's how i read into it, too. What a shame. I don't know why, but this really bothers me. I never met the guy, never saw him ride, but something is eating at me. Weird.
