Hi i have read many treads about reed replace , the boyesen rad valve wear easy because the reeds plate contact with aluminum case , the boyesen rad valve have the most Leaking air for me, back to carb , for this destroy the reed , common the fat reed plate with sub ports , because air leaking between fat reed plate and aluminum case. For this vforce reeds and japan manufacturer use plastic with rubber reed case for to solve this problem , for me there is 2 solution 1) put vforce reeds case with aluminum vforce manifold 2) or cut the boyesen rad valve case to take only the rad manifold and use from honda cr250 reed case with japan reeds , or use the boyesen reeds kit for gasgas , or boyesen honda cr250 kit reeds , there booth the same

Hi my solution for reed problems on gasgas with boyesen rad reeds 1) by reed case from honda cr250 model from 1987-2001 2) move the torque spacer from cylinder side behind the reed case 3) cut the boyesen rad case like photo 4) replace the bolts with 1 cm longer pout all together end finish
the reeds going 1 cm deeper to motor case so the reeds don't touch the metal of motor case like gmp say

I would go for the cardon reads, boyeson psr 21 i think, i had reed failure it looked like over time it had melted in the corner and gradually broke away.
there good and have found my bike responds quicker but i have changed the pipe to.

just seems a lot of messing about mate, speak to your local gg dealers or you can get them directly from boyesen

The fiberglass reeds fail due to fuel more than contact with the alum. Just put in some good CF reeds and you will be fine.. Also remember the reeds have a determined lifespan.. They are supposed to be changed every so often.. not something that lasts several seasons.. like you change them every season.. Cheap compared to other stuff.. I got good CF reeds from Boysen.. work great no issues,, last way longer than expected lifespans.. cant find them in the catalog just call Boysen direct.. Very nice people! small shop, very friendly and always willing to help.
