Hey guys,
So, I was thinking about moving back to the mainland (From Hawaii) Within the next year or so.
I'd like to find a place that's rider friendly...places to ride and possibly some local shop(s) to work at.
I have years of shop experience.
Any suggestions would be appreciated !

hmmm.... itd be a climate change for sure, but you could come on over to minnesota.... you could live in the st. cloud area, or south a hair more, theres quite a few bike shops around that area. and the bigger trails for riding are only about 2 hours north of there, and theres alot of good trails to ride. youd just have to get used to the whole snow for half a year thing.....:D but thats what they make tire studs for....

There is alot riding in washington and oregon - things are a little better in oregon right now as the washington legislature stole all their ORV funds for the next couple of years. The unemployment in Oregon is rather high right now relative to the rest of the country.

In Oregon, you have mountain, beaches (florence, or) and desert riding (china hat/fork rock near bend, or). There are trail systems on BLM, state and forest service land in the region.

I've been through Oregon a few times now and it is a beautiful state. I also like northern California. Now if you want to move to Canada, the Okannogan (B.C.) is where it is at! Unfortunately if you want to earn a decent living it's easier to do in Alberta.

Oregon and Idaho are good for riding. Working in a shop? I'm not sure. If you do move to the mainland you'll at least have to ride with me in Oregon. You'll be well familiar with the terrain and dirt in my area, it's just cold in the winter. The same riding skills are required though.;)
