Rear brake fade

I am getting some fairly significant rear brake fade.
In fact in my last race I lost my rear brake entirely for a while. I was clearly
covering the pedal without realizing it and that slowed me down while I waited for it to come back.

I've lowered my brake pedal a pretty good ways, and I'm more conscious of my foot placement.

Are there extended master cylinders, crossover components, fluid suggestions or after market parts that will work to help keep things cool and operating even under fairly extreme use?

I saw a KTM add on part recently that looked like it was a "master cylinder extender" - essentially allows you to carry more fluid and I think it had cooling fins.

I don't think they'd do that much to help honestly, but there should be a large after market range of bits and pieces being a fairly standard Nissin MC and caliper setup.

Fresh, high quality fluids, and as you've noted, try not to accidently over drag the brakes.

The master cylinder extension is about useless.
Go with Motul RBF 600 brake fluid, best I've found.
The EBC red brake pads run a lot cooler (FA367x) but won't last long in wet sandy conditions. I'm a brake dragger myself, these have solved my overheating brake fade problems.

Ditto, on the RBF 600.

I had good results changing my brake technique to use front brake more. (and fresh DOT5 fluid)

The Padiator by Siccass racing is a fin for your brakes . Don't know if they have one for your brakes.

I use a heave duty spring from and exhaust to hold up my pedal since I ride with my foot on the pedal. It totally eliminate any issues I had. The only thing is the spring needs to be replaced because they will break over time.

I should mention the ebc red pads don't stop worth a damn until after their first heat cycle. Ride with them 3-4 miles and get them smokin hot, let cool and all is good. Don't slap a new set on and go to the starting line and think your gonna make the frist turn.

When racing my 525 I always had problems with overheating the brakes. Good quality brake fluid and bleeding them before every race, took care of the problem. Became part of my bike prep and has carried over to my Gasgas. Have not had problems with brake fade.

I had my rear brakes fade while doing alot of downhill stuff one trip. I purchased the extended master cylinder and never had another problem.
