Recommend me spring rates?

Hi all

I'm 95kg, ride a 2006 EC300, I ride fast enduro and some MX.

I've looked at racetech and mx-tech websites and get greatly differing, or no results at all!

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

I ride a 06 EC200, but not as fast as you. I'm about the same weight (or perhaps a tad less) and use 0.45 in the forks and 5.4 at the rear.

Doesn't sound bad to me, but I'm no expert here.

I used the Racetech calculator. Then I asked Enduro Engineering about their opinion when I ordered springs from them, and they confirmed that the numbers were close to what they would have suggested. To me, my spring rates seems quite OK, at least when comparing static and dynamc sag numbers.

That's the question I could not get answered ?

I eventually found a place that could supply me springs for my weight, but didn't confirm 'rates' to me, I guess its so we don't go and buy elsewhere if we know the rate ??

They still had to order the fork springs in anyway, I should get them next week, then I should be able to tell you what they recommended for a 118kg rider. That said, they did say I was borderline and opted for the slightly softer option as I don't intend to ride mx.

Racetech calculator reckons my rear (6.2) is good for 105 - 115kg. No idea who did my bike before me.

Required spring rate depends a lot on frame geometry and suspension type too.
Eg: My '11 EC300 with Sachs front and rear running .50 fork springs and 6.0 rear spring. Perfect sag figures.
'14 EC300R 48mm Zoke forks/Reiger shock needed .48 fronts and 6.4 rear to get the sags correct and have it feel balanced.
Ps I'm 95kg naked/115kg all geared up inc tools, 3l water and spare hd tube.
I would suggest a 6.0 rear but if you already have a 6.2 keep it. What do your sag numbers tell you?

Linkage has a big effect on the rear spring too, and there were quite a few tweaks to it between the 2011-2014 period. Not sure about the older ones.

.46 or .48 for the front when coupled with a 5.7 rear? I've run the RT calculator a few times on different bikes and the rear generally stays the same but the front differs...

i'm not as fast as you and a bit lighter as well. i have 4.6 fork springs, and a 5.6 rear spring on my 11 ec 300. you could probably go up a size or 2 from my set up?

The new linkage introduced in '12 changed the rate chart for the rears. 2012 also saw the widespread use of the Marzocchi PFP forks, so spring rates don't necessarily cross from '11 on the front either.

I've ordered .45 and .48 fork springs so I will mix and match for best feel and a 5.7 rear. On holiday at the minute so they'll be waiting for me when I get back! I'm expecting it to be a little bit soft which is fine for me as I want to ride more enduro than MX.
