A few years ago my EC300 fell over and the seat hit my hand truck which was on it's back. It slit the seat about an inch. I'm waaaaay too cheap to buy a cover and remembered that in the past I had used "Amazing Goop" (the original in a blue tube) with crazy good results on other seats and my 4 wheeler. So I put 2 or 3 thin layers on the split.
It is still there, the split has not grown a millimeter and the stuff does not appear to be coming off at all.
Several days ago I noticed two 1/4 inch splits in the seat of the 450. My excellent wife and daughter had given me a brand new tube of "Amazing Goop" last Christmas and I had not opened it yet. 3 thin coats and 24 hours to cure and it looked like the 300's, meaning "totally bonded".
5 or six rides now and it looks as solid as the seat material with no indication that it is coming off at all.
The stuff really is amazing, it bonds to seat material insanely well and will keep a small tear from becoming a big rip. It's held the 300's seat and stopped it from growing for years now. Worth having a tube in the tool box.
Hope this helps....
