Road legal tyre?

GoldenTyre gt216aa 90/100 "steam roller" is working great for me, in fact, it might be my new favorite front tire! DOT approved, "R" speed rated (106mph) and it's available in 3 and 4 ply versions if you prefer a stiffer tire. I was very skeptical after reading all the reviews stating that this was some sort of miracle tire, but after about 800 miles of use, I'm a believer!

Yep! Idk that it is a miracle tire but it performs better than 99% of the front tires currently available and it wears great (off-road). I have 2 races and 3 trail rides on mine and it still has the little nipples on the center tread. The only other tire out there that I know of that even comes close in performance is the mx32 Dunlop

I'm currently impressed with the IRC GP110 front tire. Has a lot more bite in the dirt than you would expect, plus, u can really drag a peg on the pavement with confidence (if that's something you're into).

Not sure if you're looking for road or dirt performance - I have a DOT legal Kenda Trakmaster II (K760) on one of my bikes, and I am surprised at how well it does in the dirt. I didn't realize a DOT rated tire could do that well offroad!

It doesn't see much pavement, so I can't comment on road-worthiness!

IMO the Motoz Tractionator ST is one of the best values for a DOT knobby. Aggressive tread that works in a lot of conditions, lasts a long time, and is priced very affordable. They also have pretty good rim protection, as the bead is sunk in pretty deep from the sidewall.
