Rubber mounting handle bars

Please give me your thoughts on modifying the stock triple clamp (2011 gasser 45 zokes) to rubber mount the handlebars. I believe I can cut down a large drill bit on my lathe to the shape needed to drill out the clamp but would I need to have the hole area built up(more alum. welded on) before drilling?

I personally don't like rubber mounted bar clamps that use only two mounting bolts. They always twist when you fall.

This always happens to me too. Super annoying. I've really loved the solid mounts on the Gasser. Though, I use Flexx bars. So the rubber mount really wouldnt make a difference for me.

There's a rubber mount 3X clamp in the for sale section.

Ken on my 450X every time my bike fell over it bent the bolt for the bar mount. I ended up buying some aluminum cones to make them solid mounts.

Do you use an no crossbar handlebar?
The Renthal twin wall (witch come in some GG's) is too stiff sometimes but can be used without the bar.
