S3 head

I tried my 2010 S3 head on my 2011 six days and anti freeze leaked out around the bolt heads. Any ideas or comments?

Not torqued up right, copper crush washers not fitted or not flat. Also the stock head bolts are too long for the S3 head, but I assume you would have used the S3 bolts as that would have been most noticable.

I'd try snugging them up some more and if that doesn't do it replace the crush washers. Also be sure its not leaking from the water jacket/hoses itself and spreading onto the head.

Also watch out for ninja frogs that piss on it and make you think you have a leak when you indeed don't.

Thank you sir for the benefit of the doubt. However, i must confess, first try was with longer bolts ... Dumbass. Just makes no sense. Put back on nambo and no leaks. Put on 6days and it leaks. Back on nambo and no leaks.

Crush washers were my problem when I swapped my s3 to a 250. Replaced crush washers and proper torque and all was well

By the way, last weekend we went out for riding and a friends EC300 with S3 cylinder head was loosing cooling water. After checking all hoses, gaskets and other things, we saw that the water came out of the cylinder head where the spark plug is. We opened the head and noticed that the O-Ring was very hard and not sealed any more! The strange think, the S3 head was mounted for only 8 month!
Everybody who is running the S3 head, put a extra I-ring in your pocket or check it from time to time, looks like they use the wrong material.

I change mine every time I do the top end. Always have a few spares on hand.
