Sachs shock bleeding

Hi
I went from gas gas to Beta but I hope I can still get some answers here :-)
I'm servicing the Sachs shock (what a pita)...
I got everything back together and followed manual to fill with oil (fill reservoir, push floating piston all the way to bottom, fill body, work shaft up/down to bleed air out...) when I push the shaft down into body, it just stays sucked in there and I can't pull it back up and can't figure out where this 'vacuum' is coming from? Tried few times (always had to drain oil from body to be able to take shaft/valving out) same every time.
It's first time doing this shock so I'm hoping I'm just an idiot and missing something simple :)

I'll take clevis off again today and double check everything. . We'll see.

Ok, just in case someone comes across this looking for answers. I just took it to my suspension guy to vacuum bleed through the compression valve. No problems... Nothing wrong with the shock and I was trying right things to hand bleed it. I guess they just can be a pita to hand bleed...

I just changed seals and bushings on my 2010 ec250 with sachs front suspensuon . I don’t recall having any issues .. sorry you were talking about rear sachs . Luckily mines not leaking yet

The Beta Sachs shock is really a piece of crap, but it can be fixed. My daughter has 300 RR Race, and i went through it, and made two changes.

1. Her compression stack was out of spec from the factory - if you assembled it correctly, the adjuster would bind, and you could not make either high or low speed compression adjustments. The Sachs factory "solved" that problem by assembling the stack loose, and using loc-tite to keep it together, not draw on the screw. Replaced it with a Lanier compression assembly: https://lainersuspensionusa.com/shop/shock-upgrades/compression-high-and-low-speed-kit-sachs-beta/ WAY better design and performance.
2. Also went with a bladder kit - https://lainersuspensionusa.com/shop/shock-upgrades/bladder-kit-beta-rr-2019-2021/

Those two changes made a huge difference to her - she killed it at the Idaho City 100 enduro this year - second women's B day 1, first women's B day 2.

It's good to see that for the higher end models, they use KYB on the rear.
