Sealed or unsealed bearings in the PV assembly?

I pulled 2 bearings out of my PV assembly during a rebuild that had seals in them. Is there any risk of these melting and seizing the bearing? They weren't melted. I'm curious how they come from the factory, with or without sealed bearings.

On my '98 ones ive just replaced they were not sealed.

Should these bearings be packed or is it better to go with something more viscous like spray lithium grease?

I put premix oil or gear on mine. They will get some oil from the exhaust.
