Been thinking for a little while...
Should I sell the 450 and get a GasGas 300..
I figure
1. lighter in single track
2. still 100km per tank
3. can still lug up a hill
4. long piston and ring life
5. cheaper rego and insurance

Any thoughts on people that have gone 2 stroke after 4 ?

mpg might not be what you expect. my 300 is getting 20 mpg. course my gearing might have something to do with that.

I went back to a two stroke after going four. It's been far less expensive to own the two stroke. I've paid attention, because I was really upset at the cost of reworking the head and buying valves. Even factoring in two stroke oil, and buying a piston and gasket kit. I could revalve my suspension with the cost savings. Not to mention anyone can rebuild a two stroke in short order, not many folks can recut valve seats, or replace guides in their garage.

My EC 300 will go 60 miles before hitting reserve, I've verified that twice. I've just had the head squish band mod done, and I'm curious to see whether that will increase economy. It sure made it more responsive. In fact, it's ridiculously responsive.
