Should I sell it or part it? 2002 XC200

A little feedback would help me make a decision on what to do w/ my 2002 XC200. I'm the second owner, and know the history since the bike was brand new. It has red plastic which is pretty beat, WER revalved suspension (43mm WP/Ohlins shock), and a motor that has seen some porting thru Jack Bondus at his old Road Track and Trail shop. Has a 9 oz flywheel weight on a 2K2 ignition and a tall Guts racing seat. Everything works, just probably needs a good greasing and torquing, and the top end probably needs rings or a top end. Has the DID U rims, straight w/ no dings. I was thinking of asking around $600-700 here locally. Anyone need parts for an '02 instead?
 
I would think a part-out would yield more than $600-$700. The back wheel alone will fetch around $200.
 
$700 sounds low to me.
An XR80 will fetch more than that.

agreed.. there was a worn out 300 here for 1500... a guy bought it and all parts on ebay. most have sold.. i totaled it up if every part met him min.. it was close to 2000.00 and the prices were not out of line..
 
I would think a part out would fetch more money but you would have to factor in all the shipping and disassemble. Look at the parts section LOTS fo them and you are sure to be stuck with some.

I hate to see a good running bike parted.
 
I think I'll sell it whole, I agree it is a shame to take a running GG and remove it from the trail. I just need to clean it up next week and get it listed. I think I can price it to sell and make someone a happy GG rider.
 
I was just working on it last night, I was swapping some parts off of it. As soon as I have it back together, which will probably be next week, I'll snap some pictures of it and get the ad on here. It will be just a stock 200 as far as aftermarket goodies, but I'll price it to sell. I hope somebody on here winds up with it and gives it a good home.
 
Geez yes, I still have this bike. I was just putting the plastic on yesterday, I keep putting this project behind the winter yard work, fencing off a pasture, prepping my sleds for winter and even a bit of riding! I'm in Eastern Iowa. CButler and I have been PM'ing a lot. I think he deserves first shot before I list it here. Someone will wind up with a good deal on a 200. Just needs a little love, like that Christmas tree that Charlie Brown drug home...:)
 
Sorry guys. I still have the 200. I've gotten several PM's from guys interested, so I apologize for the delay in getting pics posted. Had some personal family issues around the holidays, and projects got pushed back because of it. I'll get pics up the week of February 20th and you all can see what she's worth. Be prepared for a red 200, because the plastic got swapped with a 250 before it left the dealers. Thanks everyone for your patience.

I thought this bike would have been gone already. If you still ahve it and have it ready to sell PM me your number. You might still have mine, I think we talked once about this bike.
