Some fresh trail

Up Billy Goats!

As normal, video does no justice. 1st attempt was weak in 1st gear thinking I could just goat grunt it up. Not enough momentum and power either spun the rear in the loose trail trash or had the front wheel going skyward.

Second attemp in 2nd with a fair amount of clutch abuse and some wheel spin chasing drive when pointed straight. Pretty messy by the end of it.

Nice Jake...like the "bastard" when you realize you'll have to turn around and try it again...lol.

It was tough to actually see a trail there. Aside from the ribbons, it didn't look like it's been ridden in much?

Don't take this the wrong way, but that GoPro mount needs some sound work...sounded like it was being assaulted by everything around it :o

Can tell it's steep from the picture :D

Cheers

The go pro is past its age. Cover is scratched up. My software rapes its clarity, and then youtube just ices the cake. I rarely use it anymore as its all same old same old after a while. New track deserves a quick clip though.

Funny how the novelty wears off fast isn't it. Especially when that super narly steep track that was ridden like a pro on the pipe doesn't turn out anything like that...
Nice little section btw. One day I'll get up there for a ride.

Not for this junkie...lol.

I think the same thing at times, then realize that capturing the footage now means I'll have something to watch when rocking the retirement home :D

My guess is I'm also not the only nut in the States who likes to see what riding is like in your neck of the world either :)

Keep 'em coming!

My mate Billy Goat Sach just got a new go pro for his birthday so I'll pass the duties over to him :D A few of the local group have discussed putting some time and effort into capturing some better footage as well as just helmet cam. Problem is when we ride its usually ride ride ride. Covered 180kms yesterday.

I gotta agree that I like ride/race videos - both self-shot and 2nd party capture.

I like to see where/what/how other guys ride. I know what my local scene is like, but it's fascinating to me to see how it's done on other parts of the planet.

For sure it's a pain to do, cause we just want to go when it's ride time. I get that.

I post the odd thing to give people a little glimpse into my world. It's cool when others do the same.

Keep 'em coming!

KTM Riding gloveless bandit! Same hill, a bit further up, now with a line cut in.

Nice Jake! Looks to be a mostly straight shot up hill? You don't like switch backs...lol?

Cool shot with the dust trail showing the path traveled, wouldn't want to get off line as those trees are close

Shes got a dog leg at the bottom, and then not entirely straight. Just enough trees to mean you need to tip it in to get around them. Switch backs are ok, never put you in the same incline. I don't know how this hill will go after the wet season, but as of now its one of the more challenging around. If you stop, you're definitely not starting again.

And another - should keep liv2 happy for a few mins :D :D :D

LOL- nice Jake!

In the second video, about 25 seconds into it, is that a giant rock just standing there? Frickin' crazy - wouldn't want to blow the corner and plow into that .

Was that you up front in the 3rd video with your buddy giving chase? No criticism, but you should tell your bud to angle his GP a little higher - found myself leaning back in my chair trying to look up...lol.

The trail in the 3rd vid looked great - like it went on an on  Wouldn't it be nice if the goofy trees that fell did so perpendicular to the trail - pain in the arse to cross 'em when they're at an angle...especially if they're wet :o

I haven't been on my dirt bike since August and haven't ridden our coast range since early July :( Good news is they finally lifted the riding ban (fire restriction), so I'll be out there this weekend...CAN'T WAIT.

Thanks for the vids Jake...only way to stay sane :D

Yeah thats my mate following me in both the vids. We have loads of trail like that eveywhere. Km upon km of single track. I'm happy riding the tights all day. The open I find less exciting.

2nd video at 25 secs, thats a termite mound (white ants). Have a search. Further in that video he hits the camera and points it down further than it should be.
