spark plugs

Allright guys, I got a 01 ec125, yesterday i went to ride and after maybe 30 minutes of riding the sparkplug died on me (had no spark, bike wouldnt start) it was a new one that i put in about a week ago and all it had was a 20 minute warm up by my house, and a 10 min warmup before the 30 minute ride. The last sparkplug also died thats why i changed it.

so here is my question,
What sparkplugs do you use or would you recommend?

If you're not riding in the powerband all the time, that can happen, as small bores like to be revved, and you need richer jetting when you ride like that. So it is probably jetted rich, if you lean the bike out a bit it shouldn't foul up.
I ran NGK br9es or br9eg plugs in my 125.

Yea i was takeing it easy, low rpm most of the time. Im still getting the feel for the bike cause it is my first dirt bike.
So what you are saying is that i should change the jet on it for a smaller one so it gets less fuel?

The bike likes to rev. All small bores are like this and will load up somewhat if just putting around on them. If your not getting it in the power then run a BR8 plug, it will be fine. Jetting was always close and the bike made decent low end power for a 125. It may want to be leaner but I'd be carefull with the cold weather and the fact that you are new at this. Also, GG125s share the radiators with the bigger bikes, so there is a lot of cooling capacity. Add the hi flow LTR impeller I put in and it may not be getting up to temp in the cold weather. You can try blocking off one rad with some cardboard if its real cold.

I just ordered some NGK BR9ES.
Im new to dirtbikeing however i'd say i am capable of working on the bike and fixing stuff my self

i got the sparkplugs states above, however they still die
out of my last one i got a about 15 min warmup by my house (running on idle) and not even a full day of riding

could it be because i got too much oil on the fuel? it has a 50:1 mix right now

That oil mix is fine. What oil are you using?

More likely is you're jetted a tad rich, like I said before, and the plugs are fouling up. Pull the carb bowl off carefully and check what the jets that are in there are, along with the needle and clip position.

That bike ran Amsoil Dominator @ 36:1 all the while we had it. It likes to be ridden on the pipe, its a race bike, and is jetted as such. If your putting around on it its going to load up and foul the the BR9 plugs. Run a BR8ES if your just playing with the bike, it will help, but its no play bike.

Its one heat range colder. Basically what the means is the heat from the electrode is transfered through the plug body to the head quicker so it runs cooler. In practice this could cause the bike to foul quicker, and plug readings would not be accurate for a 300 as its designed to run a BR8 in normal conditions.

being that it's your first dirt bike, i'm assuming you're not used to 125 2 strokes. you need to either be on the pipe, or always be cleaning it out (pull clutch and rev it out for an instant..). i'd be fouling plugs if i was just dinking around on a small bore too. it's one of the things that can make a small bore bike challenging to ride in the woods. you can't get on the pipe sometimes, so you're always revving it out so it stays hot/clean. kinda hard to explain the technique, but ride it for a while and it'll come naturally. it's ok to rev it out. the 125's are designed to be ridden pretty hard....

FYI, the 36:1 mix will not improve the plug fouling issue, but it is a more appropriate ratio for a 125 ridden on the pipe.
