Hello,

i have a problem and i hope that anyone can help me!!!

Today i want to check the spring preload level on my 2017 EC 300 (Shiver 48)

I pull out the fork and open it.

But i cant pull down the adjustment set!!

The manuel say both plugs.
So i think i must open the PFP sytem is that the 2nd plug?

I can't see your picture.

The spring preload adjustment on the main spring is set by the spring perch, by adjusting the circlip beneath it. They are quite firm and can take a little heat and force to move. Be aware that the circlips can have sharp edges and cut away some of the perch when removing and refitting. Swarf in the fork doesn't lead to a good outcome.

Then there is the PFP (adjuster on fork cap). This adjusts the level of preload on the inner cartridge spring.

Hello and thank you,

So i heat up a little bit and try to pull it down.

I know about the problem with the circlip...

The picture is a screenshot from the part spring preload adjustment of the manuel.

I can see the pic now. Pretty sure when I did mine I simply clamped the body in the vice (I have various sized clamps for suspension work though), and used a soft piece of timber to work around the perch. I didn't use any heat, but in hindsight it can only help reduce the chance of the circlip dragging.

Hello,

i try is again but no result.
I can?t pull it down.

On the pictures of the manuel the preloade slide looks different

Could it be that my frok has an older Cartridge?

I'll check some pics I have here tomorrow..

However, if you have the cartridge in the lower fork, then the spring will be preloaded betwen the bottom of the fork and the perch already, which means you'll have zero charnce of getting the perch down low enough to do anything. You need to remove the cart from the fork, take the spring out of the equation, and then clamp the cart securely before trying to move the perch away.
