Ok so anyone that has seen any of my posts will know im stupid and not very knowledgeable! And my worst area is electrics!. I think my stator has died so need to remove it. I saw somethint on another post about marking it so the timing is correct when putting back together. 1stly can you explain how the timing works? Does this relate to the pulse sensor thing sending messages when to spark or have I made that up? 2ndly if I do need to mark it is this just a case of a pen.mark from the bolts at the moment so I can put them back in the same place when reinstalling?

Thanks as always!

The "pulse sensor" signals the CDI unit when to supply voltage to the ignition coil.

Before you remove the stator plate, take a center punch and mark where the retaining bolts are in relation to the slotted holes.
