Straddleline Winter GP Short Course

This race turned out to be a mud-fest. It is supposed to be a 1.25 hour short course, but I only have 60 minutes of video. I assume that since we started late they were making up time for the next race. Not a big deal.

This race series is promoted by a local organizer who also manages the track. This is interesting because the track is public owned, so it's a fun way to see things done well. There is a winter series and summer series, we are one race away from wrapping up the winter series and I am leading the Open C class (consistency is key to success!). I won't get much (if anything) from the promoter for my efforts, but I am having fun and learning to ride my bike in all conditions.

Enjoy the videos from Sunday the 14th. Weather was fantastic as we had rain, hail, and sunshine in the course of an hour. Plus skid plate deep mud ruts and puddles over the footpegs. Great stuff! As usual I had a crap start, but I ran pretty well in the tricky conditions. Third in class, 5th overall (I think).

It was fun...right up to the point, where I ate a footpeg. For a bonus...I vaulted over the bars. pscook is the current overall points leader in his class. Congrats to Phil. I'll be there next month, watching him clean up:D In the mean time, I'll be trying to cut back on dirt sandwiches.
