Stuck power valve flap

I have an 06 ec200 on which I have disassembled the power valve. I can't get the flap out through the exhaust flange as described in the tech articles. The spigot is removed. Any tricks? My 300 one came out easily.

you can try removing it from through the cylinder side, or there may be carbon build up in the flap sides that will get scraped away if you force it enough through the spigot side of the exhaust

Its like one of those puzzles where you need to get the angle just right. Kind of back one corner into the cylinder side and allow it to rotate as it comes out. My 250 takes a bit of finess compared to the 300.

carbon build up

My power valve was also stuck I was able to remove it threw the cylinder my question is its so built up with carbon the bearings are hard to turn what can I use to clean the carbon off with gas, kerosene, ect thanks in advance

I've used Easy-Off oven cleaner, just be sure to wash it down real good when you're done as it might continue etching into the metal if you leave it on for too long.

All the above, carb cleaner, oven cleaner, gasket cleaner. Whatever works. I don't mind using a wire brush wheel on a drill/rotatary tool.
