was wondering if anyone can help me with a minor problem i am having with my gas gas. When i start bike and turn the handle bars to the right it revs high. You can control the idle of the bike by pulling on the throttle cable. Shoudn't the cable be tight in the boot. The cable isn't caught up on anything. Do i need a new cable!!!!! i did have the carb off a few times over the winter!!!! should i go back to garage drink beer and watch hockey game or should i take carb off and start from the begining! Thanks for your help.......

From my experience the cables aren't real tight in the boot, and the factory cables are a bit short, there used to be a longer one available from motion pro, and go-fasters carried them, but i dont know if they do anymore.
I always cut my bars down to 30 inches, so for me it was not a big deal with the stock cable.

Ya maybe a 1/2 beer at best... just fiddle with it a bit. Make sure the cable is sitting in the top of the carb right. Wouldn't take much to have it to tight.

gofasters carries one that is 1.5 inches longer than stock and stock, and you can order a custome one from motionpro. 1.5 over stock works just fine with my ec250, with protaper contour handlebars, which are significantly taller than my old bars.
