Time for a new bike, but which one?

My dream bike would be a 250 Nambotan with the ttx. I think that would be an awesome do it all bike for woods and MX. The 125 is really fun in the woods and I'm keeping it for just that reason. This Yamaha was sitting there for really cheap and I was thinking back at all the fun times I had with my GG450. It's too bad that bike didn't have a better motor at the time because that was a really fun play bike. It would do anything. MX, woods, street and ice race too! I had a blast with that bike.
The new YZ 450 is a fun bike and it will do the job until my daughter is done racing MX in a year or 2. It will keep me from standing around at the track and besides, it bumps me up a few spots straight away over the 125. The 125 really taught me a lot about riding tough. Everyone should have a 125.

You know if there were 20 old guys racing 125's in the same class I would have never bought the YZ 450. The 125 is really alot of fun and I will miss it at the mx track, but it just won't keep up with all the 450's the old guys are riding now. I must admit also that the suspension seemed really nice on the Yamaha at first but now that I'm riding it harder I think the 125's Marzocchi/ohlins combo was performing aswell or better than the KYB even though it was 05 stuff. GasGas really does know how to make a bike handle.

Looks like a toss up between a Gasgas EC250/300 or a Husky WR250/300.

I can get a "new" '09 Husky at a screaming deal! Very tempting.

Any one ridden both or have a comparison?

From what I have gathered, the Gasgas has a more linear motor, corners better and ergos are setup for a smaller rider. Husky has amazing low end, but rips on top, is more stable, but slower in tight stuff and is tall.

I think both would be a toss up as to which is "better". I love Gasgas and think they are cutting edge in terms of a perfect off-road weapon. But, the Husky is and old school 2-stroke woods bike and is cheap.

I demo the husky wr 250 among the whole range of ktms, 200,250 and 300.. in the end it was an easy decision and one im super happy with... GG EC300

I'm guessing You can probably get a 2010 Gas Gas for a screaming deal if you look around some.
