so my seals on my 2000 gas gas xc300 are getting pretty leaky, time to throw in some fresh seals. whats everyones recommendation? ive been hearing that SKF seals are pretty good. Also, from what ive read the stock forks on the 2000 are wp 43mm right?

Hard to go wrong with the SKF other than the price. They definitely have much less stiction than some of the cheaper aftermarket options.

The Synergy Seals [site supporter] seem to be pretty good and Rob will answer any questions or concerns that you might have about them. SKF are well liked but can be pricey. OEM seals .... well, they are a good option as well.

From my personal experience [several decades] the "leak proof" are not very leak proof!

From all the reports online and from other suspension guru's, the general consensus is to stay away from the cheap seals that are red. They do not seem to last very long and can cause a good bit of stiction. :(

Synergy seals are a good choice, if you have the patients and the tenacity to install them. I bugured up $80 worth of seals trying to get them installed right with that slick piece of plastic wrap they come with. Every time I thought I got them on they leaked from me not installing them right. Wound up pulling them and went with those cheap red seals and they are still on the bike after two year's? Go figure?

The SKF's are on the 12' give Steve (aka)twowheels a shout he can set you up with a pair.

thank for the help guys, I'm stuck on whether im gonna sell the bike or keep it, if i end up selling i'm gonna do seals, if not then im probably gonna hold out and save a lil cash and go ahead and send my forks out for a regale/respring and seals all at the same time.
