TT poll to start a Gasgas section

What's wrong with THIS site?!!!

absolutely nothing.... this is where i come for advise. it is just kinda nice to have another site. I got on TT when i had a yamaha 4st and like alot of the guys on there. There just seems to be more traffic there, not that that is always a good thing.

Well, I voted just because I want to see GasGas get some recognition it deserves. So far we are willing the vote. :)

Even if ThumperTalk adds the subforum, I really don't see the real benefit over there. There is very little GG-related posts and not very good content at that. I'm not trying to give a sales pitch here, but this site is THE SITE for GG riders.

Some quick stats...
On ThumperTalk:
Approx. 500 GasGas related threads (if you search their Exotic forum) out of the total 6,084 threads currently there.

On GG Rider's Club:
As of today: 3,523 threads with 23,133 posts.
1,452 members and growing.
16 dedicated sponsors.
Best of all: Active participation by dealers, sponsors, and other GG gurus.

i put my 2 cents in at tt, looks like were "winning" the exotic poll by a wide margin at this point. yay gasgas. i agree matt, its kind of a waste, ggr.o is by far a better source of info for us, but it never hurts to spread our religion!

I started the poll just out of curiosity. Frankly I don't see any reason to start a separate GG sub forum but some members have kind of wanted it.

There's no way it would ever be a resource as good as this site but the exposure might help introduce the brand to more people. I don't see how that could be anything but a good thing. :)

I voted on this issue since I do use both sites. I have a few other bikes, all oriental, and the TT site has info on just about anything you ever wanted to know about DRZs and all of the other popular Japanese bikes. As far as a specific GG category at TT, the GG is an exotic( no OEM and aftermarket parts avail) and I just don't see the need or the usefulness. So, having a sticky there pointing to this site would seem to be a good match.

This is the place I come to for GG questions and comments and as I said in one of my earlier posts here, When I got my GG I came here and reviewed so many of the posts hoping to get a better understanding of my GG. I found this site to be undernourished. I found there were many questions that I had as well as others that were just never answered. None the less, many questions were answered.

So,I would just as well not see the efforts here diluted by another site.

Hey Ud! Guess what? I came here!! :D

For all of you (1st post) I was the one who started the thread requesting in TT to have a subforum for GG. I have never meant to jeopardize this site. I don't think anyone can jeopardize this site! All I reaallyu want is for Gas Gas to be mainstream and not an unobtanium exotic. People need to see that this is a great brand and closer to earth than the other said exotics. I do like TM's though, just never had one. Cheers y'all!!! The way I see it you guys have the upper hand. I'll stick around.;)

Well, the poll is now closed. I think the thing I really got from it was how few people have been willing to take a chance on something other than the big five.

I think we have a very good asset here with this board. I felt we should not start a TT GG section but of course it isn't my decision. On one hand it may increase exposure to GG but on the other I wouldn't want to take any chance of hurting this site.

I think the small advertisers would get drowned out or don't have the resources to advertise there. We really are a niche group and my gut feeling tells me a small board without a bunch of extraneous noise like might happen on TT is better for us.

That's my worthless O2.

PS: The poll was not sanctioned by nor had any bearing on TT other than my own curiosity.

I always choose to visit this site before TT. It has the information and closeness I really seek. This site does lack in activity and exposure to new members is the best thing we could gain from TT, IMHO.
