Tubliss rim lock fit in a 03 EC200 DE

I liked the Tubliss so much on my Husky that I'm putting an MT43 with Tubliss on my Gas Gas but I ran in to a minor snag. The 2.15 X 18 DID rim on my Gasser has a deep narrow center channel where the spokes are and the plastic boss on the rim lock doesn't fit flush. I'm assuming I will have to reshape the plastic boss to fit. Has anyone else had this problem? I e-mailed Jeff at Neutech but have not got a reply yet.

I just put a MT43 on my 06 300 gasser with no problem. What do you mean plastic boss, are you saying the rubber triangle thing that you slip the inner bladder next to?

I have them front and rear, with no mounting problems but I'm not sure if you have the same rims as on my 08 300.

Do U have the older U-shaped rims? I have a Tubliss for my 03' with the U-shaped rims, but need to wear out the tire before I mount it. Hope it works.

I just got an answer from Jeff at Neutech. I do have the older U shaped rims and the the plastic/rubber block that the inner high pressure tube goes around is made to conform when tightened down. I was hesitant to do that without asking first since my Husky rim wasn't like that. I'm confident that it will work fine and I really appreciated Jeff getting back with me so quickly. We had a lengthy conversation about tires and suspension and I learned a lot about off-road tires and how the tubliss set up affects other aspects of handling. I believe there is a lot of potential left in the Tubliss set up that is soon to be tapped in to.

I don't what type of rim you have.

I have the tubliss on my '01 GasGas 300 rear with the DID U rim and on my '06 GasGas 300 with the Excel rim. They work great.

I was just gunshy about cranking down the rimlock with so far to go. I wasn't sure if it could conform to the rim that much. It had a lot more space to conform to than my 09 Husky. I just finished getting it done about 1/2 hour ago and it worked great. It actually went a lot easier than my Husky but that's probably because I learned from last time to use lots of soapy water both inside and outside of the tire.

The guy Jeff at Neutech is awesome to deal with. Can't say enough good things about his customer service (I'm not alone on this either). Any issues with his sytem and he will make it right, pretty much even if it's your fault for doing something totally stupid. Great guy and great product :D

I totally agree, we talked about different tire combinations and suspension and tire tech for about an hour. There may be a specially designed tire in the near future that is designed to take advantage of what the Tubliss set up can do for handling. Since he and I had backgrounds in drag racing we were comparing similarities in tire design that would benefit an off road or motocross bike.

Thats good to know. I have a set of DID "U" DirtStars on the bench all cleaned up and rebuilt ready to go Tubliss.

Forget soapy water, use Slime as a lube, even if you don't fill the tire with it later. Just wipe it on the insert and inner tire. I had a chronic slow leaking front that I could not get to stop any other way until I did this, now no problems.
