what brake pads

I see in previous threads that the 07 yz250 is the bike that has the same pads as the 10 ec300, now i am looking for recommendations on what pads to get. looking for something that works well for long downhills and also a mix of dry and wet weather, also should be good wearing, dont want to have to change them every time i pit!

there are so many options out there carbon, organic copper scintered etc etc

I just use sintered. Provides strong braking power. Good bite. Holds up well in all conditions. If anything the downside is that they probably wear harder on the disks.

thanks. Scintered it is!

I think i need to use my rear brake more, after 70hrs they still look new, front is not bad either!!

For rear I usually run organics and solid rotors, semi-metallics with the wave rotor and on the front with slotted or wave rotor.

An organic compound can give less bite and more feel on the back end. The problem in my neck of the woods is that the mud quickly turns into a grinding past and wears them out. Probably not so much an issue if using a solid disk as Glenn does.

Thats it, solids and organics go together for great mud performance and long life. Plenty of mud here too, more often than not, and big hills. Organics on a slotted or wave rotor wear very fast, and metallics on a solid get too hot and transfer all that heat to the caliper.

For great bite i use Dp brakes pads. SDP-321 Front and SDP-815 rear Becareful tho the rear likes to lock quickly with these pads!
