What to go for? 2007 ec250 R full Ohlins @ $3k or 2012ec300 @ $6k NZD

I'm 5'9" with a 32 inseam on a 2012 and it's not a big deal. Better than other bikes I've had.

Yep, forgot, the rad shrouds....crap.
Mine are held together with cable ties.
I am 5'10" and the rdie height is fine for me.

I'm 5,8 and the seat height never been an issue for me , buy the 12 !!!!

Thanks for the advise, soon as the money is sorted I will go for the 2012, just need to work on my fitness after not riding for two years.

you better get fit cause if the 12 seat is anything like the 13 you wont be sitting on it much!fine by me,but the older bike may be plusher if youre more of a sit down rider?

The seat on my 07 was way harder than the 12.

Add my '12 to the good list! No problems in 1.5 yrs. I felt cramped at 6'2" inches, went with tall seat foam.

I have had my 2012 for a little over 1.5 yrs, no problems at all. But I do have the alu subframe. It been a tank for me,
I just finally ordered some parts for maintenance. I only wish it could turn a little tighter.

Well this has really been a great thread. All the bad press etc at the time of the delayed release of the 2012's had me (and a lot of other people) thinking that the last minute changes combined with a major change in bike design made it a bit of a lemon (first year model). I am pleased to hear that this is not the case
