anyone know (or have a link) to what's different between 01 & 06 on an EC300. is it worth the $$$ going newer?
thanks

The 06's turn better, and they have the dual map CDI switch. I just woke up so that is all I can think of right now.

There have been a lot of revisions since '01. The biggies are:
-Frame changes in '03 and '05 - the '05 handles much better than anything you've ridden
-Marzocchi TiN coated front forks in '04 ('03 in EU)
-New engine cases in '05 - dropped some weight and addressed the crappy ignition cover
-Dual mapped CDI in '06 (some '05s had the CDI, but no switch)
-Porting, crank bearings, pistons, reed cages and etc. have also see changes over the years

GasGas refines the bike with every model year...

In '03 or so, the 300s started coming with crank stuffers installed...
The transmission got full bearings in '02 or so - a few random tranny seizures happened in '01.
The linkage mount on frame got beefed up in '02.
The mounts for the footpegs were beefed up at the same time...
