Who has used....

Who, among us, has used the 124mm rear suspension dog bones. I'm thinking about trying them and wanted some reviews.

I have used them on two different GG 250s. They lower the rear about 10 - 12mm, but add leverage to the linkage in the initial part of the stroke, and tend to make the bike move through this initial travel quickly. I liked them on my old '00 XC because that bike had a long shock was a little more "stinkbug" than my '03 and '07. Honestly I wouldn't use them on a newer GG as the bikes are balanced well as is. If your looking to calm down the rear more just don't run so much preload (10mm max) and go up on the spring if necessary.

Okay, gotcha! Thanks for the heads up.

I have them on my 2011 EC300 and it does though the suspension off. I can drag the tire on the rear fender if I hit something hard. I am considering stiff spring and getting Les to shim it so that it is lower and will bottom out the shock before hitting the fender.

My stock pull rods still allow the tire to spank the fender under fulll compression. In fact, both front and rear fenders have a black mark on them from where the tires hit them.

In agreement about the newer chassis not needing the pull rods. I had them on my '01. It was nice on that bike, but unecessary now.

Unless you are 5'7" with the legs of a 4' midget....
