lol...just kidden about the title:rolleyes:.

But am interested in your feedback.
I am buying new pegs for my old gasgas 200. IMS Racing offers Pro Series Pegs (look heavy duty/cool) in standard or lowered/back for my bike.
I feel pretty good on my stock setup, but wonder if it would better (always thinking grass is greener..lol) with the lowered pegs.

I'm 5' 10 & ride standing up about 40-50 % of time pending conditions. I have CR high bars rotated as far towards the front fender as reasonable to stretch it up & out some.

Will lowered pegs make a noticeable diff? What is your experience when you have tried them? Does it make issues going through deep ruts (because of them being lower)? info please :)

Here is link to pegs, it doesn't list the lowered ones, when I was talking to IMS they brought it up. I guess YAM pegs fit standard to my older gasgas 200.

i run the ims pro series pegs at standard height. i'm 5'11".

i think the pegs even at stock height are too LOW. i constantly hit rocks with them, drag them through ruts, etc.. i'm sure it's a ground height clearance issue and not a peg height issue, but i couldn't imagine setting them even lower..

I once tried lowered pegs on my '03, too many close calls with the feet on rocks. What I did try and love are Pivot Pegs at standard height. Makes standing and leaning foward more natural, IMO.

According to Chris Birch (6'1) and David knight (6'6) the only thing bar raisers do well is help you stand badly. So try to keep the bike ergonomics as close to how they were designed as it affects how the bike geometry/suspension works

Hmm

Hmm, I must respectfully disagree. Birch and Knight are on KTM's (I think) and IMO the KTM's I have owned were much more "tall-friendly". Even my 03 200 that was in a 125 frame felt less cramped the my GG.

I lowered my pegs, got a sub mount damper and added taller bars. I now feel much more comfortable on my 2010 300. I am 6 2' and stand 90% of the time (trials rider at heart)

I do agree that every part you alter does effect the geometry and handling to some degree, my guess that can be a good or bad thing.

Just my $.02

I scored some pivot pegz this week on ebay this week for a measley $12 shipped to my door! I have no idea what they fit, the PO just said YZF, with my stable of bikes I figured they would fit something. They fit the gasgas perfectly, they are the older mk2 I think, 50mm wide. Installed they are 8mm lower on the top platform than factory, I like that, the controls are much easier to use. I did flip the mounts, much lower, I did not care for it. If the bike was like that from the factory, you would probably get used to it.
So, I think a little went a long way, flipping the mounts was to much. I'm 6 foot.

I have those too and like them, the new ones are wider like Fastway pegs which I thought were too wide. Once you get used to them you will not want to ride without them. Your standing confidence and comfort with standard rise bars will improve I assure you. Buy the orings in bulk and service/grease every few rides and you will be in good shape. I'm going to look into installing zerk fittings if there is enough room and material and strength will not be compromised.
