WTB- 300 parts

NEVER mix and match case halves, always replace as a set.

i have rebuilt several dozen motors and never heard to replace the cases as a set as long as you get the same year case half. When manufacturers make parts they make a run of rights and a run of left they dont make a right change tooling and make a left. every part has tolerance and a long as its in spec the parts are gonna work no matter which parts you get outta that batch and mate them up.

i would think they line bore the crank/tranny bearing bosses with the cases together.....but i am not sure of that. i know on older rotax motors, that's the way they did it...

Thats exactly why. You may not be able to even order/buy a new case half by itself.

Then go for it. If you have been around these bikes for awhile you would know that main bearing failures on some older years were not uncommon, and certain bikes just went through mains faster than top ends. There were several theories, and one member on the old Smackover board some time ago had his cases line bored, problem solved. I love these bikes, but QC on some earlier years was not a strong point. Take that FWIW.
