I have got one with fingers that are pristine where the plates ride. There is some wear marks on the inner surface of the fingers, the inside of the basket. The whole assembaly was taken apart at some point for an EFM so it is screwed together not riveted. I think this is how may other brands are put together. It worked fine in the bike when I used it.
