WTB Rekluse Z-Start

It is my understanding that Rekluse only makes the Core EXP or Core manual for the gasgas. That is all that is shown on the Rekluse website.

One thing to note is that if you put "GasGas" into their search, your results will be for KTM products, not Gasgas products.

If you look specifically at the Z-start, it does not list Gasgas as an option for purchase.

I may be wrong, but you might want to give them a call to confirm.

To buy new, yes they only seem to offer the Core EXP.

I believe before that Rekluse model came out you could purchase a Z-Start Pro for the the Gasser. They have a manual for installing a Gas Gas Z-Start Pro on their web site. So I'm wondering if anybody happens to have one of those models kicking around from a few years ago when they had it installed in their bike.

They offer 2 choices per my dealer sheet

Core manual # RMS-7000 @ $519 retail
Core EXP # RMS7700B @ $899 retail

My '04 300 has the Z-Start clutch

So I guess the question then is the '10 clutch different from the '04?

My sheet says 00-11 for both part #s BUT DOES NOT show a Z-Start available now, just the Core EXP and the Core Manual

EDIT add info-, Being a new dealer (only 2 months) I called tech support and got some info-

The Z-Start is no longer available and they have no plans at this time to offer a Z-Start Pro, @ $629 for most apps, for the Gas Gas line even though the Z-
Start Pro is described as 'bulletproof'. He did not elaborate but I would assume it's the same thing we run into now with aftermarket- not a high enough bike count.

The Core manual @ $519 is as it says, a manual clutch, but very high quality components ( I didn't have time to itemize parts in the kit).

The Core EXP @ $899 is the high dollar one and is the only 'auto' clutch they have available for Gas Gas.

The EXP @ $399 is a lower money setup that sacrifices some of the stock clutch plates to allow for the plate to fit in the basket and in their testing they were not comfortable with the durability of the GG clutch setup when plates were subtracted, thus the 'no EXP available' problem we have with the Gas Gas line.

Probably the only hope to find a Z-Start for a Gas Gas is to watch the part outs or find someone that wants to upgrade to the Core EXP. Hope this helps

If I remember correctly, the Z-Start (not Pro) is simply a pressure plate replacement using thicker steel plates and OEM fibers to build a specific stack height. If that is the case, could it be possible that a CR250 Z-Start be made to fit, making sure to have proper stack up height and plate count? I fit a WR450 Z-Start into my YZ426, and just had to adjust shim washers under the pressure plate base to get the right spacing between the pressure plate and the top fiber. Does the CR250 pressure plate mimic the OEM GG plate enough to make it work or at least experiment?

That is a thought for sure. He did say the difference between the Z-Start and the Z-Start Pro was more parts but I didn't question him on which parts

Pro is more than just a pressure plate. The entire inner basket is replaced. Doubt Honda splines will match GG splines on the main shaft.

Right, forgot their model designation. The Z-Start is the top, the Pro includes the basket, sorry. Amend my post to redact "Pro."
