The gas tanks are not exactly the same from 01 to 06. I had an 04 or 05 tank on my 01 gasser. The later model tank wasn't as long so i had to make a strap to reach up to the frame mounting screw. Looked funky but it did work.

do you mean the rear strap to hold down the tank? or do you mean the front where you bolt it to the frame by the headtube?

Up front by the head tube. The shorter ,small cap 04-05 tank will let you use a weld on damper tower because its shorter up front as opposed to the earlyier version that butts up to the steering head.

I have two stock tanks from my 99' EC200. One is a little different from the other. I think one is a new style. I can sell you one if you like. Send me a PM if interested. I can take pic's and send them to you so you can pick wich one you want.

I have a big IMS tank and have no use for the stockers.

99 tanks will not fit the 2001 gasser. I've tried and it wasn't even very close.
