I'm looking for a serious trade for my serious woods racer that's street-legal. Looking at the Gassers and the 300 is my cup of tea. If it ain't got a plate or has a ''bad'' MSO/title, I can't do it. I operate a guided DS tour company here in WNC and it has to be able to be plated. Equipment doesn't matter, just need the paperwork legit.

The famous Yanni has joined the site.

Good luck on getting a GasGas! They are great bikes.

Alas, I have seen the light of day. I really enjoyed my '06 Husky WR250, but the close-ratio 5speed was unbearable on anything but pure woods. Even the small connectors of gravel and pavement was crazy on that thing. 8,000rpm at 50mph ain't gonna get it. I have only looked at Gassers close up, never ridden one.

I look forward to a wide 6speed, the way every enduro bike should be built. I love the way Gassers are built and I'm anxious to try one out. Me and my bud are going to pick up his new-to-him '06 EC250 tomorrow. I keep telling him I am gonna ride it up and down the creek as soon as we unload it but he think's I'm jokin'. ;)

didn't you used to run the tours on a husky 125??
my 06 gasser geared 13 50 tops out about 55 to 55mph ...
well it will cruise about 50 55 ok any more than that it seems to scream more than I want to hear. On road sections I usually keep it arounf 45 mph.

why are you looking to unload the kawi?? They are suppose to be nice in hte woods ... too heavy??

No it was this '06 Husky WR250.

I'm just not really a 4T guy. It's nice in the woods but I grew up on smokers as we all did. I'm a big-bore smoker type of guy, but 300's are all we get these days. The KLX450R is a torque monster that steers like an RMZ with compliant woods suspension. I'm just lookin' to get me a Gasser because I've always wanted one.

I know there's somebody out there with an '08 or newer EC300. My KLX450R is a bike that can win GNCC's, play on the trails, and take you down the 2-lane all in one.

Come on guys, I've got a lot of money in this bike. If you are just lookin' to sell your bike, trade me straight up and put this one on the market. She'll go quicker than a Gas Gas on the open market and bring you more money. I am only interested in riding and keeping your Gasser, not selling it.

Help a hillbilly from the mountains of WNC out.

no matter how nice the klx is, this is a hard place to sell a 4t...

oh and my 200 13/52 gearing screams along at 65mph according to gps.... 13/50 would probably get me closer to 70...

Very true but if someone is looking to turn a bike in this economy for some $$$ I believe one is better off taking my bike and putting it up for sale. I'll hang out until I find one no doubt.

Just and FWI for you about the GG 6 speed so you are not dissapointed if you buy one. Just info you should know ahead of time.

The actual overall spread of the gearbox is actually slightly LESS than a KTM 250/300 XCW. Many guys gear the Gassers down for tight technical stuff and you end up screaming them on the roads as well. It's not really a wide ratio gearbox and GG could really make that 6th taller IMO. The good thing is you want a 300 and depending on the terrain you ride that could possibly be geared up a bit with the tourque it has. KTM guys are still envious of the Gassers 6 speed and there would never be the huge XC vs XCW tranny debate if they had one. It's THE #1 request from the KTM 250/300 guys.

Give your buddies new bike a real good tryout and see what you think. Same gearbox 250/300 but make sure check the gearing on it as there is a good possibility it will be geared down. 300's come stock with a slightly tall 13/48 and that just might get it done for you ok.

I rode my buddy's '06 EC250 extensively today in some tight singletrack me and him cut on my property. Damnit, somebody throw me a line. I want YOUR Gasser.

I think you'll love the 300 yanni. I just have an 02 model but its the best 2s I've ever ridden. bet if you did it right and balance the wheels and all that stuff it would be a awesome guide bike.

Oh hehe, I was speaking in general terms about the 300, not mine per say. I'm not really interested in selling mine at this time, love it too much. I do hope you get one tho man

I know its on the other side of your state but there is a 07 250 for sale on cl that looks like a real dandy if the paperwork is been done. You could allways put a 300 kit on a 250 btw.

Nice looking bike. Didn't you have a CRF450x last year that you replaced your XRR with? I think we swapped some emails about that bike. At the time I had an XRR and was thinking about getting something else. I kept the XR and now have an 06 EC300 and love it. Horses for courses, there is nothing like the XR for fast fire roads and backroads, the GG is amazing on tougher trails. It is as reliable as an XR and as powerful as a 2T YZ that handles in the woods like a KTM. What else could you ask for? My son has the 250, the difference in the 300 isn't too drastic, but it is smoother with more torque. He loves the hit of the 250.....kids.

We made some super tight mountain singletrack today and it was my first ride on the GG 250. WOW. You guys are right. I have never ridden a bike that will lug so low in the tight stuff. I compare it to my Husky WR250...the GG will lug way lower and actually still move forward.

The hit isn't nearly as violent either. Don't get me wrong, if I was in the FL. sand, I'd prefer a MX-type hit in the middle that screams on top. But around here it's pure mountains and the GG gets it done, very quietly and smoothly. Saying that I'd like to have the 300.

I had a 250 once, and I'd like to a 300 now that I've sampled the 250 GG. We even tore it all done and just checked out how they work. They're so simple. The frame reminds me of the mid-90's Kawi perimeter frames.

I'm 5'9 and 180lbs. so the close cockpit is what I've been looking for, for a long time. I feel like I'm in the bike. I would love to sell mine but damnit that just takes too long. I like to find a fair trade but I'm about an inch away from just selling mine outright. I have several bikes in the stable to ride on tours so it's no big deal.

Yep, went from CRF450X to Husky WR250 to the KLX450R. I've finally found what I'm looking for. I know the tranny's aren't made for I-40 but I only need it for the transfer sections of gravel and tight twisty pavement. It'll be just fine if I can get my hands on one.

Wait until you feel the way the 300 lugs....it will blow your mind. Come up and ride with us here in SE KY and I will let you take her for a spin! I went all the way to Iowa to get my first 300 back in the summer. 21 hours on the road.

I just got back from HAtfield Mccoy with ny 08 ec300 . Rode some of Rockhouse ,Buffalo Mtn, & Bearwallow .THe thing did great on those rocky climbs.

I love mine.
