'11Sixdays vs '12 Race.

Everything but the engine mate.

2012 sees a new frame, subframe, brake pedal, forks, rear shock, clutch, fuel tank, seat.. etc etc etc..

You're totally mad if you get the 2011 Six days for $11,500 on the road. The 2012 EC300R is RRP $11,700. Same as the Euro models were. I had mine on the road for 12G neat. I'd expect I could get the 2012 EC300R for the same.

I could have had an EC200R 2012 for 10,300 on the road (If they were coming into the country sooner/at all). 2011 E-Starts are going for around 10,500 on discount clearance prices. If you're only looking at the SD/2012 for suspension (Ohlins rear) then you'd be better off spending the extra coin and getting a 2012 with the 48mm CC Zokes up front.

Instead I've arranged for Ohlins TTX Inserts for my Sachs 48mm on my 2012. Alread have the Ohlins 888 rear, same frame and such as the 2011 model. I'm considering dropping a 250 cyl kit on it, along with some bling. For well under what I'd loose on a trade in I'm going to have a really nice 2010 model that should be good for another couple years.

Nato, i Bought a BRAND NEW 2011 ec300e for 10200 ON THE ROAD last June, so a six days, with only really important difference being the shock for 11500 is waaaaay to much. Good choice waiting for the twelve

Without spilling the beans too much I can honestly tell you that there isn't a whole lot of profit in a new bike from the dealers perspective. Particularly a smaller dealer who might only sell a couple new bikes a year.

I can't remeber the Aus pricing off the top of my head but I think..
EC200R 9999rrp
EC250R ~10,600
EC300R 11,700

The e-start models are around the same price as the race I think, and in 2011 the base model kick only would save you a couple hungey.

So getting one for $12,000 means the dealer gets their margin, take wages/time to pre delivery, minus freight.. You pay RRP + rego. Its a good deal in my eyes.

Simmo was simply saying you could have got a 2011 for well under the 11,500 they were asking :)
