Hi was wondering if it?s possible to change the rpm at which the power valve opens if so how and would a mechanical Luddite like myself be able to do it
It can be adjusted.
You will need to pull the right side clutch cover off.
There are some washers you can move around to adjust the preload on the power valve actuator.

Ok cool I?ve been told to put a lighter spring in as well how much of an adjustment is needed to get a reasonable amount of change my power band isn?t kicking in until I?m almost ready to change gear it?s daft want it at least half way if not sooner really
on my 2006 I removed all of the pre load washers and ground the end of the springs down so there was minimal preload the shorter the spring the earlier it comes in some people have removed material from the OD of the spring and this makes the spring open quicker.
Also pull the right side small PV cover off and verify the stud did not break off the PV actuator backing plate. That was a common failure for the early GG bikes.
