200 pipe guard

OK, so I have been looking into a pipe guard for a 14' 200. I have searched the site and have not found much for the 200. So far it looks like it will have to be a universal pipe guard from Richochet. I looked into pro power, but they dont seem to make one specifically for a newer 200. I did look into P3 guards, and found their P3 guard for the 200 to have confusing information:

http://p3carbon.com/shop/gasgas-pg/p3-pipe-guard-gasgas-200250300-08-13/

If you notice, in the upper portion it says 08-14, then just below it says 08-13. I put in an email asking for verification, so I hope to hear back soon.

In the end I just want come decent protection for the pipe, not worried about if its ugly as hell. Any other input would be great.
Thanks

I have both p3 pipe guard and p3 bash plate on my '13,i just specified my bike in the online order as a 200.because the 200/250/300 chassis the same,250 bash plate will fit.pipe guard may be the same or not depending on year.i think I read that 200/250 have the same pipe 13,14,15?

Pipe guard and skid plate

I have not looked for a skid plate yet. I wonder if there is a difference from the 13 and 14 200 pipes. if not, the P3 carbon should work.

that's what I thought,so you can order the 250 guard from p3.good quality, and fits nice but a bit pricey, esp when ordered from nz!there is another cf manufacturer too,pro power?i think.someone had posted a while back that this guard was tougher than the p3?

On another note, I did end up buying a set of Emperor Racing RAD braces/frame guard. Ill post up some pics when I get them installed :D

Have you had a look at Hyde Racing one piece Skid Plate/Pipe Guard.
$US200.oo.

They list models up to 2013 on their site but someone may know if they also fit 2014's.

They are light, indestructible and will last for years. I just bought another for my bike which is getting a 10th Birthday makeover. $Aus300.oo delivered.

They also have swing arm covers & hand guards.

I can vouch for the skid plate and swingarm and front disk guards. But the pipe guard does nothing if you ride lots of rocks

Rather go for propower or p3 for the pipe

I ride in gold country, 70% rock hills & rock creek crossings and the Hyde pipe guard sections do everything they should as have done for years not only on this bike but others. I figure thats why I am replacing the bash plate and pipe guard on the ec and not the expansion chamber.

IMO the downfall with the hyde setup is if you ride mud, mud, glorious mud. Anything that sits proud of the pipe and runs back to the rear frame becomes one big shovel.

On the contrary, the fitted pipe guards fare much better here, however any massive impacts on the guard still have to be absorbed somewhere, and you may find big blunt forces will tend to tweak the pipe around the mounts/spigot rather than just caving it in.

Nothing is indestructable.. some things work better than others in various ways. I run a carbon guard to mostly protect from layovers and roost. I tend to try not to punch it face first into big none movable objects. In saying that, last time the bash plate was off it appears my frame rail has taken a good knock and flattened out in a section, and I've also jagged up a shift lever with enough mumbo to bend it back 90 degrees onto the footpeg.

Dirt bikes be dirt bikes.

I have just finished the last of the endurox series here in Australia and removed my propower guard expecting big dents in it as it has had a bashing.
Both myself and Matt from propower were very happy as there is not a dent at all in the pipe.
He is going to post up a report once I have washed the bike and can get some photos to him.
If the 200-300 are the same I would be getting a propower pipeguard.
Cheers Mark

For general bush riding through long grass and sometimes non existent trails you find unexpected surprises regularly, that's where I think the Hyde setup excels and the advantages outweigh the disadvantages eg: picking up a bit of grass or mud.

However If I do the Kamfari this year ( mud, water, long grass, mud, water, long grass and to liven things up a bit, more mud, water & long grass) not so much rock. I will only use a lightweight bash plate and maybe try a Propower guard. See if they win me over.
I "can" understand why endurocross riders prefer them.

Hydes factory is close to me and I know Terence Hyde from the races here. I had the pipe+sump guard on my bike when I bought it. Within 3 months the pipe was dented and bent. I then fitted a p3 guard and have been running it for 3 years and the only dent and bump we the ones that were there from the Hyde guard (the p3 has completed the roof of Africa extreme Enduro and I ALS hooked a rock once that flipped the whole bike around so it has been tested properly)

There must be a reason why Hyde are making cf pipe guards now!
