200 ring gap?

Looked thru several threads and saw stuff for 250s and 300s, but nothing for the 200. Not sure if there's enough difference...hence the thread...lol :o

Old top ring is between .558mm and .609mm, need to get better feeler gauge. BTW, .609mm won't slide thru.

Thx!!

Thanks for both links guys.

So, just a check to make sure I'm getting it correctly. I have a B cylinder on my 200 and the bore is 62.46mm or 2.4590551". I take that and multiply by .004 to get the top gap in inches...correct?

If my math is accurate, it gives me .0098362204 for the top ring and .0122952755 for the bottom ring. Converting back to mm, it yields 0.24983999816mm for the top and .3122999977mm for the bottom.

So, .25mm for the top and .31mm for the bottom. Given the gap on the rings I pulled off is somewhere just shy of .6mm...does that seem really tight? I know they're worn, but both of those seem tight.

Did you use these gaps of .25mm and .31mm?

I've run my 250 rings as tight as .28 (top) and .33 (bottom).

The ones I just put in were .3mm and .35mm (would have to check notes to confirm) and didn't require any gap filing.

Thanks for the PM bud, should have replied with my final results so it was out there for other owners :o:o

The rings Wiseco sent me were within spec, so I didn't have to do any grinding or expanding (which was nice given this was my first time through the process...lol).

My final gaps were .245mm top and .310mm bottom. She's been running great for the last ~40 hours, hoping to get another 35-40 hours out of her before doing another top end :D
