2005 body rebuild

I had the same concern about the air boot when I did my transformation but Swazi_matt is correct. As long as the filter seals to that boot then you will be good.

Thanks guys very much for all the helpful information!
I ordered a new filter rubber just to be sure and I will put it together as you have advised.

Today was painting day :)
I painted the front rim because I have a new rear wheel :)

I cleaned and painted the exhaust pipe and muffler

Today, I installed a new exhaust orings

I fited exhaust pipe on new springs

I will made the distance to mount the muffler

For now my Gas Gas looks like that :)

Next week will come box with new parts form motocrosscenter :)
Nevertheless, I still have to buy a new front tube, chain and gears etc.

Its looking good. Just a FYI, Put a small bead of black silicone RTV down the length of the springs. What that does is keeps the springs from vibrating so it wont wear into the exhaust manifold as much and it keeps the springs from breaking. Years ago I use to break a lot of springs and a bead of silicone down the length of them was the trick to stop it.

Thanks a lot Zrt1200 valuable tips !
I did not know that. I will glad do as written.

Don't put the spoke covers on.

Why should I not put them ?

I wanted to buy them only because the rear wheel is new and the front is old. I wanted to make them look the same until I will buy the new front wheel. The new wheel has black spokes and old silver so I wanted to put spokes covers.

Unfortunately, I can not unscrew the brake pads pin :(
The hex screw is totally destroyed and the pin itself baked.

I have no idea how to unscrew this pin to not break the thread in the brake caliper.

If you spread the pads far enough apart (or together), you should be able to get a pair of lock jaw pliers on the pin shaft and unscrew the pin backwards. Carefully heat the caliper up with a torch, you might want to remove the caliper from the hose and drain the caliper and also remove all rubber parts so they don't burn.

Lock jaw pliers like this:

Fair enough. They are just not my cup of tea and they also trap moisture in.

Well who won the battle?? Did you get it finished up??

I won this battle but it was not easy :)

New brake pads are installed and everything is nicely cleaned and greased.

I also installed a new ignition cover

Finally I glued stickers to the swingarm
