The seat bolts down to the subframe, there is a red colored washer that protects the seat cover I believe.

OK then I guess the plastic parts are connected to the headlight. I thought the seat was just a bolt on item. Thanks for the reply.

Help!!

OK, new question for any body that has performed the transformation. What to do with the air cleaner? My kit came with air cleaner cage and springy thingy retainer. I assumed I was to reuse the boot and two metal pieces which clamp together but they don't seem at all compatable, that is; the new cage has three post which do not align with anything from the 2005. BTW got the transformation kit from greenland racing out of spain.

responded to your pm and yes it did come with airbox but no boot. I assumed I was to reuse old one but the metal part that connects the boot to the box is not right and there are no provisions for the three plastic prongs that came with the new filter cage. I see you have a 2012 and a 97. I think the 97 can be updated with a relocation of the coil and a new gas tank. Might want to do some home work on that one though.

I Have a late model tank already for the 97'. To do the update I have to move the coil as you stated and also I believe the water intake on the head needs to be milled down, because it sticks up so far. Im waiting for my wife to beat the crap out of the plastics on it already. And judging by last weeks ride it won't take very long!

When I did mine using the same kit I used the metal plate from the old airbox and drilled holes through the new one so I could bolt it up tight. A bit of a bugger to mark up the holes but just take you time and then enjoy the fiddly job of getting the nuts on the threads!

Like you I couldn't work out how to use the red bar and spring so I'm just using the old bolt through method -works absolutely fine.

OK, got every thing to work. Had to fabricate a metal adapter. It mimicks the retaining ring on the out-side of the box/boot junction for the OD and mimicks the filter cage regarding the ID. Drilled three holes which line up with 3 prongs on the cage and was able to use the spring loaded retaining device. Could'nt let a cool red anodized part go to that one drawer in the tool box, you know the parts graveyard from bikes gone past. There is something missing in the kit, however if you look at the parts diagram the only thing that stands out is a restrictor plate with 3 slots for the prongs on the filter cage. If you know someone with a newer bike you could look at.........

I don't know what a new air boot is worth, but the newer ones aren't physically mounted to the airbox. The basically push into the airbox like a great big gromet. The 3 prongs on the cage locate on the inner edge of the boot.

Hi I'm thinking of doing this to my bike, has anyone got any pics of there bikes compleated so I can have a nose.
Dose it look the nuts and is it worth the money.
My GG is a 2003, its ether do this or save up for a newer bike bike but I love this bike
Did you get your frames powder coated red at all

Cheers grant

As far as the airboot being different all I know is that they are the same part number, if they are different then that would explain a lot!
I spent 360 euros plus another 100 in shipping and I got it in less than seven days. I think it was money well spent, as my bike was beat to hell and in need of a make over anyway.

powder coated the swing arm but painted the frame. Pretty much a low wear item except where the pegs attach seem to get ugly.
You were right about the 03'. The engine anyway. I bought the bike from a guy who was doing the part out thing and the only thing he had sold was the engine, so I had an 03' 300 laying around. Good eye man, if I remember right I had to move the lower engine mount.

I did the same thing to my 2002 EC300 - used the Greenland MX kit and I think it looks awesome. Most of my mates thought I'd gone and bought a new bike.
Will be out at the CHEC practice day this weekend and Enduroland at Houghton Conquest on Easter Sunday if you'd like to see it in the flesh?
